The Black Turtle silver coin from the Celestial Animals series, 1 oz. from New Zealand Mint.
The Celestial Animals collection represents the five elements of Feng Shui, each associated with a creature, a colour and a direction. According to tradition, they guarded the heavens centuries ago. Harmony and peace are the main ideas that these animals tried to convey.
The Black Turtle is the fifth coin in the collection, representing the element of water and presiding over the North. Its main values are protection, solidity and stability. Its design is found on the cross, in which we see the turtle occupying the central part of the coin with a snake surrounding it and challenging it from the front.
The design is notable for its oriental style, the amount of detail on each animal, especially on its skin and face, and the circumference that divides the outer and inner sides, decorated with different circular motifs.
On the face we see the face of Queen Elizabeth II with Ian Rank-Broadley's design, which is notable for a simple crown with square motifs without decorative excesses and a very faithful representation of the curls of the monarch's hair, with circular motifs. The background of this part is empty, and on it we find the Queen's name, the country of mintage, the year and the face value of the bullion (2 dollars).
The Black Turtle coin was minted in 2021 with 1 ounce of 99.999% pure silver by The New Zealand Mint, has a diameter of 39.00 millimetres and a thickness of 2.98 millimetres. Add this beautiful bullion to your collection and get it at the best possible price!
