Mickey Mouse "Steamboat Willie" 1 oz silver coin, minted in 2017 by New Zealand Mint.
The New Zealand Mint has a wide variety of silver bullions featuring characters from the Disney film universe in its catalogue.
One of the most notable is undoubtedly Mickey Mouse on Steamboat Willie, a classic 1928 scene still in black and white showing the mouse at the controls of the ship's wheel as he whistles. It is a very famous short because it was the first animated short in which sound and music were synchronised.
The main character of the coin appears on the cross. It has two distinct parts: an outer side, made up of small lines arranged irregularly, which converge at the centre and form a small star; and the inner side, where Mickey is located. Mickey appears with a broad smile and resting his two hands on the rudder.
To the right of the mouse is the New Zealand Mint symbol with the initials 'NZM' with the four stars above them.
On the face is the face of Queen Elizabeth II in Ian Rank-Broadley's design, in which the monarch has a simple crown with no decorative excesses and a very faithful representation of the curls of her hair, creating a contrast between the wavy and straight lines. The background of this part is empty and, on it, we find the name of the queen, the country where it is minted, the year and the face value of the bullion (2 dollars).
The Mickey Mouse "Steamboat Willie" coin was minted in 2017 in 1 ounce of 99.999% pure silver and has a diameter of 40.6 millimetres. Add it to your Disney bullion collection and show off your design!
