Donald & Daisy Duck 1 oz silver coin, minted in 2021 by New Zealand Mint.
The New Zealand Mint has reached an agreement with Disney to exploit the rights to the images of its fictional characters. Thanks to this, the mint has an extensive collection featuring the main characters of its films and television series.
This coin, in particular, alludes to one of the brand's longest-running characters: Donald Duck, who first appeared in 1934. In this case he appears together with his great love, Daisy, with whom he forms one of Disney's main couples: Daisy.
Both appear on the cross. The cross, with a flat background and just a line that configures the space in which the characters are placed, has the two ducks in the centre of the coin. Both are shown looking at each other and with hearts on their shoulders, a sign of their love for each other.
The two characters in bas-relief are depicted in their characteristic costumes. Below them are the coin's specifications: metal (silver), quantity (1 ounce) and Disney's copyright.
On the face is the face of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, featuring a simple crown without decorative excesses and a very faithful representation of the curls of the monarch's hair. The background of this part is empty and, on it, we find the Queen's name, the country where it is minted, the year and the face value of the bullion (2 dollars).
The Donald & Daisy Duck silver coin is minted with 1 ounce of 99,999% purity, has a diameter of 40,6 millimetres and a thickness of 2,97.
