2 ounce silver coin minted in 2019 from the Plantagenets Hawk, from the Queen's Beasts series of the Royal Mint.

The Queen's Beast series is one of the most significant and historic coins that the Royal Mint has minted in recent decades. It was first issued in 2016 and features the mythological animals that, in the form of heraldic statues, decorated the inauguration ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

In this edition it is the turn of the Plantagenets Hawk, a dynasty that ruled England from 1154 to 1399 and later influenced the creation of the Tudors. As usual, the cross has two distinct parts: the background, which describes the characteristics and name of the coin, and the centre, which occupies the main design and is dotted with chain motifs, creating a sense of depth that further embellishes the style of the coin and blends perfectly with the coat of arms.

It is one of the most majestic editions of the Queen's Beasts series. The falcon appears holding a shield which in turn represents another enclosed falcon. With its beating wings, the animal looks at the stately and solemn horizon, with spectacular details on its wings, where each of its feathers can be differentiated.

The edge of the coin is simple fluted, with several lines that cross it horizontally in a regular way and whose fineness is quite remarkable.

On the face, the usual face of Queen Elizabeth II, with a background of dots smaller than those on the cross, which occupy the entire space of the coin.

The Plantagenets Hawk was the fifth coin to be launched in a series that has been a real success in Anglo-Saxon countries, where its history and symbolism are particularly fascinating to the inhabitants.

It is made of silver with a purity of 999.9/1000, weighs 2 ounces 62.208 grams, has a face value of 5 pounds and has a diameter of 38.61 millimetres.
