1 oz gold coin of the Iberian Lynx, minted by the Spanish Mint.
The Royal Spanish Mint is one of the oldest institutions in Spain. Its facilities are the source of the coins bearing the Spanish seal and of an infinite variety of commemorative coins commemorating important events in our history. But from now on they will also begin to mint bullion, with the debut of the 1 ounce gold coin of the Iberian Lynx, one of the most significant animals of our fauna.
The animal's face appears on the front of the coin's cross. With a high level of detail on its fur and with a penetrating gaze that reaches the coin's holder, the lynx, on a flat background, is surrounded by the face value of the coin (€1.5), the institution's logo and, below it, its name. Bordering the face of the coin is a sort of half-figure of pearls that embellishes the coin's design.
On the face is the country's national coat of arms, albeit slightly changed, with a sort of cave painting of animals under the crown in what appears to be the planet Earth, guarded by the famous Pillars of Hercules and the motto Plus Ultra. At the bottom, a row of irregularly arranged sea waves. Around it, bordering the upper half, the name of the monarch and below, the coin's specifications.
The Iberian Lynx was minted in 2021 by the Royal Spanish Mint with 1 ounce of gold of 99.999% purity, has a diameter of 37.00 millimetres and a thickness of 3.80 millimetres. Get it here at the best price!
